So it's safe to remove. Thanks!
Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Is there a reason you want to remove it? You must have purposely linked your gmail to the app.

Oh, Heck! I accidentally removed both of them! That won't affect my Microsoft account will it? I just need to setup Gmail through the mail app again right?
That wont affect your Microsoft account, just set up your gmail again.

Just because there is no product by that name it is clearly the mail app that you setup to use with your gmail.

I no longer have a Windows 8 laptop. Got a new Windows 10 laptop, so I don't think I needed the top one anymore.

And I set up my mail through the Mail app on the Win10 laptop and the bottom on showed up again.

I shouldn't need the top one if I'm using Windows 10 mail app which is the bottom one, right?

Just because that other information related to Win 8 doesn't mean it won't apply to 10 as well, they both use mail apps so it stands to reason that they would both be recognized as "Mail by Microsoft Corporation" by Google.

I would think the top one is more important than the bottom one, it is mainly for mail. The bottom one is using all three.

I still don't know why you want to remove it when I pointed out they were all part of adding gmail to the app.

Try and remove one and see if it still works, you can just redo it if it doesn't.

Removed both then set up Gmail through the mail app again, only bottom one showed back up. So the top one is for Win8 only I think.

Ah, I guess it was a holdover from your previous laptop. Well we both learned something then. :)
