    Windows Live Mail 2012 glitch


    WLM now brings almost everything into the Trash file. No settings were changed. Is there a simple fix or would you advise I switch to Thunderbird. WLM is linked to Outlook.com so the junk also goes there.

    See if this will help............
    Go to Programs and Features > right click at Windows Essentials ( either 2011 or 2012 ) > click Uninstall/Change > click Repair.

    Thanks. Tried that, sent myself a test message but it went to the trash file, as did your message. I could try uninstalling but wonder if I'll lose data?

    Backup emails you want to keep first.

    You didn't accidentally setup a rule in Live Mail to move inbox messages to the trash or deleted items folder?

    Hadn't changed the rules. Think I'll try Thunderbird.
