Windows 10: Default Browser
Yes IE currently launches from a hyperlink which is as expected since the default browser is still set to IE. I have also checked the default protocols and nothing is currently set to Edge - so all good.
As I said in an earlier reply, I suspect that by uninstalling Maxthon Cloud Browser I may have identified and fixed the original problem because the default has not changed since that uninstall and previously it seemed to keep changing every few days.
My problem can be marked as solved - if it re-emerges I will re-post as a new thread.

Received HP notebook for Christmas. Model 15-F211WM. Having problems with (1) making Mozilla Firefox the default web browser instead of Microsoft Edge; and (2) viewing DVDs (I insert DVD, drive whirs, lights flash, nothing plays, get no messages)....

I currently have Firefox, IE and Edge installed on my PC. Firefox is set as the default browser. When I go into the default apps setting screen and click to change my default browser, only IE and Firefox are on the list, so I can't select Edge.

have set my default browser to IE11 but every time I open a link eg from email I get a window pop up asking if I want to keep using this default program and even though there is a box to tick saying always use this app, the annoying box still pops...
