    The fact that it doesnt get patched any more against security threats.

    IE is patched against security vulnerabilities as far as its convoluted backwards-compatible structure allows. IE is, in effect, in an extended support period just like other deprecated Windows components & ageing OSes.
    - The latest MS statement about this that I could find was in the now-deleted IE11 only extended support not bugs - Microsoft Edge Development where the MS developer Brad E confirmed

    - Many Cumulative updates contain IE security updates.

    that KB4532693 CU only applies to Win10 v1903 & v1909, Helmut

    v1809 / LTSC 2019 get KB4532691 instead
    v1803 get KB4537762
    older Win10 versions get different CUs for different IE11 builds

    He was providing an example of a CU that included an IE security update in response to the last line of my post [the post before his].
