How to fix “Your account settings are out of date” in Windows 10

I'm having problems with windows 10 mail. I've added 3 of my email accounts but one keeps showing a triangle with a ! in it, i right clicked on my email and click fix and it asks me to re enter my password which i do but it doesn't solve it. Anyone had this before?.

Unfortunately I see you got no responses. I am having the same issue with 7 GMAIL accounts and have been searching for a fix. There are lots of "fixes" all over the web but none seem to work. It's a highly annoying bug. I find that logging out of WIN 10 then logging back in with your PASSWORD (NOT PIN) helps it for a few days then it returns again.

I'm running it on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4. with the latest WIN10 with all updates. I also have Outlook but for the Tablet this is a much simpler app to work with.

All you should have to do is go to your MS Mail Online account and logout. Maybe restart and just log in again. that is how I fixed mine. Welcome to the forum BTW.

Only with accounts where I have two-step/two-factor authentication enabled, then the account/s will require an app specific password instead of the usual account password.
