Mail and Calender apps suddenly disappeared

    Hi,

My mail and calendar apps have just suddenly disappeared. I've tried the uninstall trick using powershell and reinstall but still missing the apps. I've also tried a sfc /scannow but no luck. The Microsoft Store reports the apps as installed.

Anyone have any ideas. I'm running Windows 10 Pro v1511.

    Thanks

Hi, have you tried clearing the store cache?
Store Cache - Clear and Reset in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

    And there is also this:
Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps - Windows Help -

When you do get this fixed, it would be interesting to know if you've lost any settings or data, and if you've any idea what might have led to the problem.

Note: always best to use disk imaging so you can restore to a working state easily.

Ok, last resort before an in place upgrade repair install:
DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image - Windows 10 Forums
    Option 1, 5:
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I've never had to use this, so can only offer it as you've already tried SFC /SCANNOW

I've managed to get mail working on new user accounts but not old accounts by doing Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Is there anything else I can try before I go ahead and reinstall windows?

    Thanks for you help guys.

A number of people report modern apps (various) e.g. people, store, calculator being corrupted after installing the latest update KB3124200. I would now guess this is what has happened.

Normal repair options haven't been successful, but an in place upgrade install (which takes you back to the build state of the installation medium) will. Before that, you might try uninstalling KB3124200.
    E.g.
Windows Calculator Store Not opening and displaying white icon - Windows 10 Forums

(There is at least 1 longer thread on this since the update came out about the 19th or so).

    - Always take care to make a disk image before making major changes so you can revert to where you were should things go wrong and save yourself a whole load of time and frustration. (Aomei Backupper or Macrium Reflect - both free, former easier, latter more technical).
