Microsoft Edge is not saving favorites under new folder created

    Hi!

I've been using Windows 10 for about 2 months now and do like the feel of it.

Now, I have a problem with the Edge browser not saving a website I try to favorite in a new folder under Favorites.

When favoriting a website to Favorites or Favorite Toolbar, is saves the website as the star becomes yellow. But, if I make a new folder under Favorites and try to save to it, no luck. The star does not change to yellow nor does it favorite it under the new folder created.

Additionally, when I try to remove the folder created under Favorites, right clicking gives me the "remove" option but when I select it, nothing happens.

This is driving me nuts. Does anyone know a solution to this?

    Hi,
Go to Task manager, right click Edge Process, click Details, right click Microsoft Edge CP.exe and End task, repeat this for all instances of Microsoft Edge.exe. Reboot and see whether it fixes the problem.

    Nope. No go.

This is kinda frustrating. The edge process comes up only when I run the Edge browser. I get 2 Edge CP.exe running. I end one but cannot end the other as I think it's because the browser is running when doing this. If I close the Edge browser, so do the edge cp.exe thingys.

Have you tried sfc /scannow command? If not, give it a shot:SFC Command - Run in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Hello Msedge, and welcome to Ten Forums.

It sounds like your favorites may be corrupted in Microsoft Edge. If so, you may need to use OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to reset and clear all favorites in Microsoft Edge to start fresh.
