When I open a link in email I get asked which browser I want to use

Whenever I open a link in email I get asked which browser I want to use. I have selected Explorer as my default browser and I keep checking the box that says "always use this app" It is very frustrating. How do I make Windows 10 understand that I always want to use IE.

What email client are you using? Outlook 2010 by any chance?

Have a look in this thread below - it seems there is finally a solution if you add this to the registry
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\opennew\command]
     @="\"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE\" %1"
Can not declare IE 11 as default program - Page 13 - Windows 10 Forums

There seems no way to click a link in Edge and have it open in a new open tab. It either opens in the existing tab or creates a new closed tab, depending on which mouse button you use.
