Does this fix get the calendar & contacts working too @bloodhand?

I don't know, because I don't use calendar & contacts sync and I also have no clue how to test it...

Regarding the contacts, I can only say that when I try to send an email from an account fresh-added from scratch in WLM 2012, it shows me all the contacts I have in outlook.com webmail... As for the calendar, I have no idea...

I would expect that within WLMail, under calendar it would show holidays etc even if no personal events have been added. If you don't have any further problems with your fix I'll give it a go & test the calendar.

Unfortunately, the calendar doesn't show any holiday events etc. even if I switched months or years. But there might be another sync link for calendars somewhere... Does calendar syncing work with v1 of the patch? I never bothered to test this... I remember I had a calendar sync error when first starting WLM 2012 with the patch, but I don't know which version of the patch had this issue.

LE: Calendar doesn't work neither with v1 nor with v2 patch (tested myself a few minutes ago). I have no clue about the new URL to sync calendar, but I think Calendar used to sync with DeltaSync and they never implemented ActiveSync for the Calendar. Did the Calendar sync ever work with v1 or v2 patch in the past? If yes, then they must have changed the sync URL for the Calendar too and they never re-re-released a v3 patch with the change as they were supposed to.

I'm gonna dig further and maybe I can find the calendar sync URL. I could also try to install Outlook 2013 and fetch the calendar sync URL in its dlls.

I installed both v1 & v 2 of the patch, neither worked for me.

OK, but did it ever work? Maybe it worked in the period when the patches were released. If it did, then there is a chance to ressurect Calendar syncing by fetching the correct sync URL and modify the file that contains it. If it never did, then I think chances to make it work again are very low.

Well, after pretty much headache and a lot of time wasted, I found the file where the ActiveSync url relies, because if you changed it under account settings, it never got replaced and it didn't work. So, the file responsible is "msmail.dll" from "C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail", which I have hex edited and replaced the original "https://m.hotmail.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync" with a tinyurl I created "http://tinyurl.com/wlmail2012", because the newer Office 365 ActiveSync link "https://outlook.office365.com/Micrososft-Server-ActiveSync" was longer than the original one so I couldn't fit it in the dll that easy.

In order to obtain my patch, just follow these steps:
    1) After WLM 2012 installation, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FIRST APPLIED THE 2ND D-MAIL.MSP PATCH provided here: http://www.filehost.ro/3172282573/d_mail_v2_msp/.
    2) Then, with WLM 2012 closed, copy and replace this file: http://www.filehost.ro/3172311238/msmail_dll/ to "C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail".
    3) Start WLM 2012, insert your account by using the classic setup settings (DO NOT USE IMAP/POP).
    4) Let it sync until all folders are synced.
    5) Try to send emails to yourself and check if received.

NOTE: I noticed that if you repeatedly click SEND/RECEIVE BUTTON, after >10 attempts, it won't sync again for a couple of minutes (you receive the same 0x801941F7 you always received when using any of the patches). I guess this is either related to an antispam filter on Microsoft Sync servers (which is limiting you to send a lot of Sync requests in a short period of time) or it just doesn't work correctly at all and my patch is just placebo.

I'm gonna test it for a couple of days and if it won't work, I will give it up and go for the IMAP setup. This was my last hope that finding the path of the sync URL and changing it would fix the issue permanently.
Is this still working for you? Does what you wrote not contradict what tracit99 said above, that "The server address change is unnecessary since the server is determined from your email address. You can put any address you want in for the server and it will still work. I put in (https://mail.mickeymouse.com) and it still worked."

I've given up hoping calendar & contact sync will begin working & began using imap for my hotmail account as with the two patches installed I discovered the compact message store didn't work. If someone figures it out I'll try again.

Not working anymore... It always says "No new mail messages" in status bar and never gets synced anymore. I switched to IMAP/SMTP as well...
