That is the first I heard of "the patch" still being offered and it is hard to say if the one you are being offered will work. The one that works for me can be found above in the post by bloodhand (step four). Also since one of your MS accounts has not been switched I am not sure what your results will be. I have found that it is the combination of the switched account and the patch above that allows WLM to function with ActiveSync for now. I believe this is likely to change as MS moves forward. Frankly I am surprised that MS has allowed WLM to work for as long as it has.

I installed the patch a while back but then had to remove it because it broke my folder structure. I've since upgraded to Windows 10. Presently, I'm still able to sync my account in WLM 2012, but deleting messages no longer works, and possibly other functions that I haven't noticed yet.

I get a notification popup each morning when I open WLM telling me there is a patch available to install , perhaps I won't try it till I see both accounts are over on the eas.outlook.com servers then , I have 5 accounts in WLM all on IMAP , it aint 100% perfect but maybe I "fiddled" once to often as I have weird folders and get timeout error popups but all in all it is still better than the Mail App, though it is setup JIC I need it or WLM goes belly up unexpectedly. The fail in Dec. wasn't just a sync issue though , the whole program just stopped working / opening.

I didn't install the patch on my new laptop as it broke WLMail on my old PC, now I too have noticed that I cannot delete emails from my hotmail account under WLMail, removed & recreated using imap. I also found the same with the inbuilt mail program but removing & recreating solved that.
The calendar stopped working too when the delete problem started, I've come to the conclusion that the account is currently being transferred to the new protocol.

Right, IMAP does work -- I set it up on a different machine to test it that way back when we weren't sure what would happen. ActiveSync still does a more elegant job of syncing all folders, though. Unfortunately, deleting is now broken with it, but at least I can use it as an archive.

I have a strong feeling that Microsoft withdrawed the 2nd version of the patch because it was fully working and they just didn't want people to have WLM 2012 fully working after all, even they didn't want this at first. Let's just hope they won't change any ActiveSync addresses so WLM 2012 would work properly ever since.

Strangely on one Computer (1511.545) the Mail App is using eas.outlook while on my newer system ( 1607.105) it is using the bay.hotmail address as is my Surface 3 which is also on 1607.105

Sadly, even if it said "No new email messages", my hotmail account wasn't acutally syncing anymore for a couple of days as I received notifications on my Android phone about new emails and WLM 2012 didn't. So I guess the sync url trick didn't actually work, because the error now involves the same stock sync url: "https://m.hotmail.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync" even if I changed it in mail settings to "https://m.outlook.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync". So I guess I have to find a way to change this url where it is actually stored. I will uninstall WLM 2012, install it without any patch, take a snapshot with Cameyo portable maker, then install the patch and let Cameyo compare and see what the patch does actually modify in the file installation path and/or registry path and find the url location and modify it... The "https://m.outlook.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync" url seems to be the one used in Microsoft 365.

try the address without the m before outlook.com the m is the mobile site , ie for phones I think.

I am using IMAP with WLM and it is working ok though with a few quirks ....

Win10 Calendar has taken over calendar duties since IMAP can't sync that.

I have not tried the WLM offered patch in WLM 2012 yet ...

The calendar won't sync either with or without the patch. I did not use the calendar so that was not a deal breaker for me.
I can attest that imap or pop still works. I have one of each. So as not to have duplicated folders when using imap I had to alter the "special folders" under properties-advanced for the imap account.
