Doesn't help with browsing older sent items

But you can search for older emails and it will display them, that's how I do it as I only sync 1 weeks worth of data, need anything else I just search for it

I found a workaround. Open Windows live mail and put he mails of inbox in the folder draft. Then put the send items in to the inbox. Open now Windows mail and wait till you see the inbox mails. then put the inbox mails into the send items folders. Close Windows mail. Go to Windows Live mail and put the the inbox mails in to the sent items and the draft items into the inbox mails. Close Windows live mail and open windows mail and now you have your send items and inbox items. I now it's a bit complex but for the moment i worked for me.

[QUOTE=... It's only within the Mail client that have a limited view. I guess it's a bug..

I have to admit; the Mail client is so limited in functionality I do wonder what they were thinking. Outlook and Live Mail are both many times more functional...[/QUOTE]

May I ask a little question: Just to be clear are you talking about 'Windows Mail' (started off in Vista) or Windows 10 'Mail' (the mail client that come with Windows 10)?

I know it's a tiny difference in words, but it's an entirely different program. I just want to be clear

Did anyone ever figure out a fix for this - Sent mail for a Hotmail account only saving last 30 days of messages?

Nope :) not me anyway ....

The Mail APP is just that an App so I think it deliberately only brings in the last 30 Days to save space on Mobile devices , no a help on my Desktops , BUT at least for me this limitation only appears to be with my two Hotmail Accounts , my other Accounts , even Gmail now show me further back.

Of course if you use WLM or Outlook.com instead you can access them all.

Well, really the only usable MS offering is the paid Outlook now. WLM no longer works with MS accounts (well only IMAP, not calendars).

I hate to be cynical but it does seem that it is a deliberate policy - you can have Windows for free but you are going to have to pay for Office365 in the end if you want a usable mail client...

I'm not saying it is bad value - I now use it - but I preferred WLM to Outlook personally, mainly for the combined inbox.
