How can I download an audio from a web page?

Hi, I've faced this issue many times, and I still don't know what can I do to download an audio or video from a webpage to my computer. I have JDownloader2 installed, and for example, if I add a YouTube link, it analyses it and I can download the audio or the audio+video, choosing the quality. This can be done in many, many sites.

But sometimes, this method does not work at all. For example, right now I'm trying to download the audio from here:
Egghead Van Halen - New Sounds - WNYC

    Which is this one:
New York Public Radio Popup Player

If I add any of those links to JD, it won't find anything to download. I know I can record my screen or audio, but that's way too newbie. I want to download directly the audio source, without loosing quality.

    Any tip?

You would need a good Internet Download Manager which will capture the Audio/Video.

Yeah, thanks for replying, but that's just a regular add-on/plug-in of the browser. I want to download the original audio file from the source. When I download a YouTube video using JDownloader, I download the video as it is, a mp4, without converting it to any audio file or video file. I download it from the source, I get the same video you would see on the browser.

Your plug-in seems to "record/capture" the sound and convert it to mp3. That's what I can actually do with a Windows screen reccorder. So what I need is a download link of the source audio file, so I get the original audio I hear in that player.

    How can I accomplish that?

The add-on/plug in is actually download the orginal from the source, there's no conversion. Same as from Youtube. You'll get the choice to select the resolution/type to download. If it is 1080p mp4 then that's what you get.

Hmm interesting question. I always thought you could download video/audio directly from the website just like anything else. I thought there was somekind of download button somewhere.

OK, I've tried it out and it has worked nicely. But the software looks a lot like a spamware, adware or malware software. Do you trust it?

    Is there a free alternative?

Sorry. just pick one of the link. You should download it from the official Site. The software is not free and I've been using it for years...

Amazed to see some one who never heard about Internet download Manager (IDM). It's the most popular windows download manager in the world, and the best too. :) If you need a free alternative to IDM the most promising one is Eagle get.

Yeah, and it's because a reason. I've always used JDownloader2. It's way more customizable, prettier, and better in all aspects, as far as I can say. It lets you download links, and you know... I think everyone knows JD. Nevertheless, it does not find media on some websites, like that one. But paste a link of YouTube or any other popular site, and it finds all the media right there.
