    Contacts in hotmail

    Hi All,
    Running windows 10 pro here.
    I open iexplorer and open Hotmail and I went to create a new email to one of my contacts and noticed when I was typing in the email address that it didn't auto display from my contacts. I then clicked on the settings and selected 'People" and all I get is the beads just spinning for a while and then get "This page is temporarily unavailable

    We're sorry, there was a problem showing this page. We experienced some technical difficulties retrieving the content.

    Funny thing when I open firefox and go into Hotmail I can see my contacts and when I select "People" it instantly displays all my contacts. What the heck changed in iexplorer for me yo lose all the contacts?
    Any help would be appreciated

    I haven't seen the problem but since Firefox sees your Contacts they still exist on your Hotmail Webmail account. You might go to Outlook.com Webmail and use the same login to check, could simply be a Hotmail page or Internet Explorer problem. [I feel Hotmail may soon be fully migrated to Outlook.com.]

    @Berton
    Thanks for the reply. I still haven't figured out what the heck is wrong with iexplore. I will do some more reading today to see if there is a solution.

    Hotmail has been completely migrated to Outlook.com for a long time now. Pointing your browser to either Hotmail.com or Outlook.com redirects you to the same place.

    @Scramjet - I tried FireFox, Edge and IE and they all work the same for me.

    There's one thing in your original post that isn't clear to me, what do you mean when you stated "... I then clicked on the settings and selected 'People" ...". I don't see any way to access "People" from within the Outlook webmail interface or from Settings. Did you mean that you opened the "People" app from the Start menu?

    Sorry to confuse you there. When I go into Hotmail now in iexplore and click on the square of dots ( assumed it was settings according to another google search I done) in the blue area I get a list of boxes and the 2nd one is "People". That is where all my contacts are supposed to be. All I get is the beads spinning until I get the message of problems with site. When I go into Firefox browser and log into Hotmail I can click on the "People" box and instantly get all my contacts. Also I checked the "Mail" program in Windows 10 tile section which I have 2 email accounts counting Hotmail and I can access the contacts list there. it seems the past couple days that iexplore cannot display the contacts page which is stored on people.live.com
    This is very annoying because I always clicked on my Hotmail link for the quickest access to my Hotmail especially for sending emails.
    If I cannot find a fix for this then I may have to set Firefox to my default browser

    cheers

    OK, now I see what you're talking about (I never click on that square of dots). The only suggestion I can make is to try opening a command prompt and running "sfc /scannow" (no quotes) in order to check system files. I'm curious if you are able to access People while using the Edge browser or if it only works with FireFox.

    I just checked edge and contacts are all there. So it works in Edge, Mail, and Firefox but not in iexplore. It always worked in Iexplore and I didn't change anything or installing anything recently. I am hoping to do some searching on it again today. I will have some free time later.
    Thanks for replying to give me other things to check.
