I am still using Eudora 7.1.0.9 on Windows 7 and am wondering if it will work under Windows 10.
Eudora works just fine under Windows 10.

Thunderbird has been my favourite client for years worked right off in W10 I used Mozbackup (and restore..) whilst in W7 and it restored all my mails and settings no problem in W10.

You can get Mozbackup from here: MozBackup - Backup tool for Firefox and Thunderbird

I know this is an old topic, however the latest Windows inside update10586 has killed my Windows Mail installation.

You can try removing it in Windows Powershell and re installing it from the Windows store ( sometimes works ,sometimes not. )

FWIW you can uninstall the W10 mail client app with CCleaner ( free ) > tools also .

Windows powershell string to remove the W 10 mail client . :

search >cmd > rt click > run as administrator > type powershell > Type (or copy and paste) :
    et-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
You may have to do that exactly from start to finish 3 times ^^^^^^

    Syd,
Have you tried reinstalling it? I am not going to switch to 10 until the mail problem is solved... I refuse to use webmail... two slow and awkward and I like my own stuff on MY computer! I use Windows Mail on Windows 7. This is a huge issue for me.

The Windows 10 Outlook mail client works reasonably well here but it's not 100% stable either , it's convenient but not any faster than web mail. If your web mail is slow that's a bandwidth , configuration or web mail provider problem .

If you are using Windows live mail aka (Windows essentials ) it's going the way of the doddo bird soon if it hasn't changed to outlook web mail already .

You can add *that e mail acct * to the Windows 10 e mail client and use it there or on the web with Outlook mail .

I tried to reinstall Win mail, however this was unsuccessful, so I am going to to a clean install of Windows, download the update via the Windows Insider Prog, then I will try and reinstall Win Mail.

Just curious - are you talking about Windows Mail that was derived from Outlook Express and used in Vista --and then after that, could be used in Windows 7 if you knew how to make it work in 7?

Or do you mean "Windows LIVE Mail" that was more commonly used in 7, or do you mean the "lite" mail application that came with Windows 10?

The one I was talking about was the first one. I understand that some people were able to install and use the Windows Mail from Vista in Windows 7, 8 and then Windows 10.
