I use Outlook just to keep up-to-date with what Microsoft is doing with it.

On Windows 10, I use Outlook 2013 but the font rendering in emails is shockingly blurry, just like it is on Win 8.1. Same problem in the body of Word documents.

On Windows 8.1, I reverted back to Office 2010 just to avoid the headache inducing grayscale font anti-aliasing API that Microsoft have, for reasons that defy comprehension, seen fit to inflict upon the hapless customer.

I sure hope they fix this in Office 2016. If they don't I'll have to start using Libre Office.

I run Windows Mail (Had it on Vista, Win 7, and 8.1) and will use it on Windows 10. I like Pop email, plus I still have my Contacts and Contact groups.

Have you tried turning the following?

or fine tuning your graphics card (references to anti aliasing?)

or as a last test: disable hardware graphics acceleration

I use AOL since day 1. I never had any problem and I like that my mail is safely stored upstream. How often have I seen people struggle to get their mail when their system went south. I also use Gmail - mostly in Android though.

I have used a number of clients over the years from Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail to Outlook 2013.

I am wondering what you guys use as your main client.
I guess I'm old school, I like the email clients too. I've used Outlook Express ever since it was released. Then when I got MS Office, it moved over to Outlook and have never changed since then.

I like having everything in one place, e.g. mail, calendar, contacts, etc. My Android phone has a mail app that I use to view and manage my mail til I open Outlook on my PC.

I haven't seen much of Office 2016, but I will get it when it becomes available. I've gotten all the others prior to it more so for Outlook though I use the other applications as well.

I have tried to use a standalone client, but it is too bothersome to setup, maintain and whatever.
I am fine with a browser's extension, which notifies me about email, opening it takes 2-3 seconds.

Like another member, I've used Outlook Express since, like, forever, up to and including XP/SP3 (still my main OS)

I skipped Vista but do run Win-7 on secondary PC's. In Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, I found a way to re-activate Windows Mail.
It's so close to O.E.6 that the setup and operation is practically identical.

I can't, however, seen to get WinMail to work in Windows 10. If someone knows how, I'd love to know.

So right now, in 10, I'm using Thunderbird, which works OK, but it's not my favorite.
I don't like web mail..... I want my mail and my address book on MY Computer where I can save it, move it to another PC, etc.
    It's a Control thing!

    Hi there

If you like OE (I wish it was still available on W10) -- simple -- does exactly what it needs to without all these "features" to integrate whole teams of office people and connect with every device on the planet - why not simply keep running XP as a VM and only use OE.

Shouldn't be any serious danger of XP being "attacked" if you only use OE and don't bother using XP for other Internet access stuff.
As a Virtual machine a minimal XP will use so few resources you won't even know it's running !!!!.

    Cheers

I mostly use outlook.com. I might consider Mail or the Outlook App eventually though, but I already get email notifications through Blackberry Blend so I might use that.
