Which email desktop client do you use and why?

Hi, Jimbo - would the same work for Windows Mail (Vista version) being used in Windows 7? It works perfectly in Windows 7 - not a single hitch since 2012.

Can you do the virtual machine idea for Windows 7 with the Vista version of Windows Mail? How much space might this setup take (excluding your existing emails which would be transferred over later).

I agree with previous poster though I HATE webmail type clients --usually slow, messy and adware driven.

If you can find a cheap (discounted) version of office 2007 or 2010 then outlook is very good, There are also some reasonable LINUX email clients but that's another issue entirely.

Note to people who don't like IMAP - there's no problem copying email from your IMAP inbox to the local outlook pst files - simply copy (or move) to the relevant folder. Outlook 2013 is a DOG in that regard as the outlook files are hard to find. However in both OUTLOOK 2010 and 2016) and presumably in office 365 the folders are restored again into your documents folder named outlook.pst.

I do like IMAP as it's easier to use email from a myriad of devices -- when I want to save emails I just move them to a local folder on a PC.

Hi there

W7 works absolutely fine as a Vm --probably a better idea tha XP as it's still getting security updates.

Just install the minimum you need to run your email application -- really simple to do.

Or do you mean "Windows LIVE Mail" that was more commonly used in 7, or do you mean the "lite" mail application that came with Windows 10?

The one I was talking about was the first one. I understand that some people were able to install and use the Windows Mail from Vista in Windows 7, 8 and then Windows 10.

I'm talking about the Windows 10 store /start menu email client IU app not web mail other than Windows Live ,Outlook Express ,Outlook or [any other web mail ] you can link ( add ) to the Windows 10 e mail client .

Perhaps you can help me out. Am trying to install multiple copies of Eudora 7.1.0.9 on a Win 10 machine. Multiple installs on an XPSP3 machine (which blew the motherboard) work fine

On Win 10 the first copy installed and works just fine fine, but the 2nd and 3rd (installed to different directories and different names) won't run and the first install opens instead with a warning about registry entries and default mail programs. I realize that Eudora is "old tech" but I like it and am use to it.

Any suggestions as to how to get it to do multiple installs?
