can't open iexplorer under windows 10

up until last night, I've been using iexplorer instead of the new Edge browser because the latter does not have
the options for ignoring font size and fonts that were in the IE settings- my eyes are old and can't read the small fonts
and font-sizes that seem typical in many web-sites.
But this morning, IExplorer no longer works: I get the following error-
This application was unable to start correctly 0x000018.
    Click Ok to close.
My first thought was to re-install IExplorer, but I get a message when I tried that IExplorer cannot be installed
    on Windows 10.
    HELP! and thanks for reading

    Hello keesadad, :)

As a test, restart the computer and see if Internet Explorer will open afterwards.

In fact I did that just before I posted the message.

In that case, you can uncheck Internet Explorer 11 in Windows Features, and click on OK.

Afterwards, restart the computer if prompted.

Next, check Internet Explorer 11 in Windows Features, and click on OK.

This will essentially be the same as uninstalling and reinstalling IE11.

Wow! that worked just fine! A very big THANK YOU for your very quick and easy-to-follow solution.
Very much appreciated! Any idea what caused that, if anything I might have done?

I saw "This application was unable to start correctly 0x000018." when I tried to run CMD. After reading this thread, I tried to open IE 11. I received the same error message. I then did as Brink instructed for the IE 11 problem. I turned off IE 11 in Windows Features and restarted. When I was logged in again, I turned on IE 11, and restarted. When I logged in again, I ran IE 11. It worked! I ran CMD and that works too!

Brink, all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you.
