How do we get Chrome to stop remembering web addresses and search suggestions ?

I hate it and I can`t find any option to have it stop remembering.

And I don`t mean Auto Fill, I mean suggestions.

Have you tried clearing the data in your Google account Brian?

Do you mean logging into my Google Account ? As in sign in ?

I`m talking about if you clear your history before you go to bed, then you go to work.

Then, when you get home and open Chrome and start typing something into the search bar, it gives you a list of suggestions that start with the letter you just typed in, or have the letter you just typed in it, I want Chrome to stop doing that.

If I type in A, that`s all I want to see, an A, and no suggestions at all.

I may be wrong Brian but I think that information may be taken from the history in your Google account rather than from your local history. Google holds all sorts of information on your internet activity.

So you think it`s just a Chrome thing, because I turned the option to save history off in Edge, and it still remembers everything when I open my home page google.com

So you think I have to stop using Chrome completely and uninstall it ?

And stop going to google.com ?

    That seems ridiculous

Hmm! Just tried Bing and that is making suggestions too.

Ya it`s crazy huh. I must have googled and found 2 dozen answers on how to disable it from happening, but Chrome keeps updating and everyone`s instructions are incorrect, the options they say to use are gone from Chrome`s settings.

That`s it, I`m going back to Netscape Navigator

Brian. I've found a Chrome setting.

    Search for Auto-Complete

Are we sure it isn't Googles predictive text search features? If I type and search something in Google I haven't before I will get suggestions based on what I'm typing. I bet if you type "how to make" you will get a suggestion for face mask... I think there is a difference between this and your search history that can also appear as you type.
