And, oddly, searches that one puts in either place are still remembered in both places when one opens a New Tab.I see the search behaviour in the latest Version 85.0.4183.83 is different. Before when you started typing a search string in the main search box on the Google home page, the search text would appear in the address bar. Now this doesn't happen and the search string remains in the main search box.
