A new flag appeared today in Chrome Canary (it still doesn't work):
Latest Google Chrome released for Windows-fling-flag.png

This has to do with a feature that Microsoft is going to implement in Chromium-based browsers:

Add Win specific touch-initiated fling animation

This CL will enable Chromium on Windows to have a touch fling inertia that behaves more like Edge and other native applications.

Note that this implementation does not modify the curve depending on the scroller’s size, something that may be desired. User feedback will be used to determine the importance of bringing that behavior to Chromium.

New Edge (with fling animation) vs Chrome (without fling animation).

Google updates the context menus in Chrome Canary.

The most important change has to do with the context menus of the tabs:
Latest Google Chrome released for Windows-1.png

These changes are explained by Peter Kasting in a commit:

Update tab and frame context menus to match most recent UX specs

This removes four entries from the tab context menu; changes the text on several others to stop saying "tab(s)" explicitly; adds one entry to the frame context menu; and changes the bookmark-related menu entry strings from "page" to "tab" for consistency.

After these changes, Google has decided to restore one of the entries removed from the tab context menu:

    New tab to the right.

It's Peter Kasting again who explains the reasons for restoring this option:

Restore "New Tab" context menu option on tabstrip; rename string for clarity.

This is a partial revert of https://chromium-review.googlesource.../src/+/1761666 coupled with a string change discussed over email with srahim/markchang.

At the time of removing the functionality we believed it was redundant with Ctrl-T and the New Tab Button; after removal, user feedback alerted us that this particular option served a slightly different use case.

Apparently, the latest Canary update shows your signed-in identity, for a couple moments, in the Avatar pill, at Startup or sign-in, now by default...
