Has anyone seen this before on the NTP?
The time and date instead of "Google", it appeared in the Canary version a few hours ago and I don't remember having seen it before.
Another interesting detail in the Canary version is that, apparently, soon you can see tab previews or "cards" (something that already works in other browsers for quite some time) or at least that's what I deduce from this new flag:
Unless I have misinterpreted the flag.

I thought Chrome was supposed to self update? It never self updates for me, only when I go to check the version will it activate an update. Imagine the security risk to people who never go looking at their build number, they must be running very old insecure versions of the browser!
It does self update. It slowly rolls out. When someone posts here that a new version is released, it can take days, or even a week to roll out to the auto-updater for everyone, but it will eventually self update. When you check the version you are forcing the check/update. It's the same thing as Windows does with their updates.
Hmm. Looks like they have been playing with the size or spacing of the icons on the Favourites bar. Mine have overflowed now. Not happy.![]()
Chrome just updated to Version 71.0.3578.80 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I used this fix to view the old style tabs - Set to Normal chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md
I've tried all the options but I'm stuck with the new style tabs. How we get the old style tabs back if possible?
Install an older version, or, install Cent Browser...
