There is a small advance in the option that will allow you to save the Tab groups, the Tab group buttons now appear in the bookmarks bar when you save a group:
    Attachment 361249

Chromium developers have finally added the feature that will make Tab groups really useful, their persistence across sessions after saving them to the bookmarks bar, this is the commit (merged yesterday):
[ SavedTabGroup ] Sync Bridge Implementation

The SavedTabGroupSyncBridge allows us to send and receive updates from sync in order to maintain an ordering of saved tab groups across devices. Additionally, the sync bridge adds the ability to store saved tab groups into local storage (to the disk) which can be recovered / recalled across sessions (browser crashes, closing the browser, updating the browser, etc).
After restarting the browser, your saved Tab Groups will be there in the bookmarks bar:

The change that allows saved Tab Groups to persist across sessions was made in version 110 (Canary), but Chromium developers could merge it into older versions of Chrome, so in the future it might also be available in versions 109 and 108.

In case you didn't know, the tab group saving feature is enabled with this flag:

In Android there is a feature called 'Dynamic Colors' (which is part of the 'Material You' design), what this feature does is apply the main color of the wallpaper to other parts of the OS, well, a similar feature is coming to Chrome, basically it extracts the main color of the wallpaper (from the New Tab Page) and sets it as the browser's theme color, here's how it works:

This feature is currently available in Chrome Canary and can be enabled with this flag:

Another novelty in Canary has to do with the Side Panel, Google has been working on something called 'Power Bookmarks' for a while now, and one of the new features of these 'Power Bookmarks' (in the Side panel) will be the option to sort them by date or alphabetically:

Currently in Chrome the only option to sort bookmarks is 'by name'.
There will be a "Visual view" for Power Bookmarks, this view is similar to the current layout of bookmarks in Chrome for Android (for now the favicon is not displayed correctly):

And Google has added the flag to enable this feature (in Chrome Canary):
