Google is working on a new user experience for Chrome downloads, and now, in the Canary version, it is already possible to see the new downloads button in the toolbar.

When you click on the file to download, the new button appears in the toolbar and there is an icon when the download is in progress and another when the download is complete:

The blue icon will have a progress ring in the future, that's why it now looks so "small" on the toolbar, I think it will be similar to the progress ring in Edge's downloads button:

In the future, a download bubble will appear along with the button, something similar to how it works in Edge:

In Chrome Canary the Tab Search menu now has a separate section for tabs that are actively using audio and video:

The new section only appears if any of the tabs is playing audio or video.
