The UI may not be painting properly, grab the header with your mouse and maximize it then back again.

The area to the left of the "X" is dead (no response) The normal maximize and minimize area does not respond "grabbing" the edge of the window and and making it smaller/larger does not fix the problem.

Can you not grab the window header and drag the entire window to the top edge of your screen to make it maximize manually?

For any window a double-click anywhere on the title bar is the same as clicking 'maximize', double-click again to go back to a window - you could try that too. You can also right-click on the title bar to get a menu that includes minimize.

It appears that the window is maximized, cannot drag it via the header. RC or LC does not show the drop down for minimize or maximize. I am now getting any attempt to pull the header down, the display goes into split screen. Set FF back to defaults, no difference. The more I fix it, the worse it gets (multitasking is off)

Meebers, FF was giving me fits and I uninstalled it (Revo) and reinstalled. Although my problems were different than yours, most likely an uninstall/reinstall will work.

I believe you are correct. It is on my little lappy (32GB memory) will look at it again in the morning. It was fine until the last update. EDGE lost all my bookmarks. Drats!
