Yes Firefox 56 is the next beta to be released not 57. Firefox 55 beta is now on RC build 3. Directory Listing: /pub/firefox/candidates/55.0-candidates/

Indeed it is, I try to stay away from there. I visit just to see if Nightly is out.

I just checked on the Directory Listing: /pub/firefox/releases/55.0/ site Mike and Mozilla are now showing FF version 55 as released. So you are correct :)
I'll give it a miss though and get FF beta 56 when it's released.

I use a dumbcute little app called SUMo as an alert for updates (never DL anything from it). It swears 55 is out, my FF says "not yet". Sometimes it will hit around 8-9 my time.

I never use the update option with Firefox, I always go to the Mozilla site I linked to above.
