I checked it out...it was ok but I like Chrome and Edge better...Funny part is they have been raving about how Firefox uses less ram than Chrome or Edge and I found it to be just the opposite...Edge is lightest on ram, Chrome somewhat more and Firefox was double the other two and that was just running the browser with out doing anything heavy like watching videos, opening a lot of tabs, etc etc...
Actually Edge is pretty decent...would be nice if it had more settings like Chrome but otherwise very decent...How often and how does Edge get updated? it doesn't have a built in updater like Edge and Chrome...
I hope Edge continues to get more refined...
Windows Update - major changes to Edge come in the Features Updates like the Fall Creators Update, minor changes/fixes in the cumulative updates. eg:
What’s new in the Windows 10 Fall Creators UpdateMicrosoft Edge...
•Annotate your books...
•Pin your favorite websites to taskbar...
•Edit URL for Favorites...
•Full screen mode (F11) in Microsoft Edge...
Cumulative Update KB4048955 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.64Addressed issue where Microsoft Edge cannot create a WARP support process and appears to stop responding for up to 3 seconds during a wait timeout. During the timeout period, users cannot navigate or interact with the requested page.
Security updates to Microsoft Scripting Engine, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows kernel, Internet Explorer, and Windows Media Player.
Thanks Bree...I know I can always count on you :)
Sounds like it doesn't get updated as often as Chrome and Firefox (other than fixes and security updates)...
What I like about it is it is light on memory, fast and snappy...and I like the default home page it comes with...and Bing seems to be a very good search engine...
I have both on my system (Edge and Chrome) but I am trying to see if I can use Edge as my primary browser...so far, pretty good...
If you wan't more changes to Edge, go to insider builds, practically every new build has some changes to Edge.
Thanks CountMike...something to consider!
Maybe I was too quick to judge Firefox Quantum and should have given it more of a chance (like play around with it for at least a few days, make settings changes to my liking, etc.) Perhaps I should consider re-installing it and giving it another chance...
After using FF for many years now, I'm still trying to get used to latest version, many new changes are implemented after after long time it has been rewritten. As it's parctically new browser now it make take few iterations to stabilize everything and have more and better extensions. It still needs time to show it's real face but potential is there.
