    Didn't work, Edwin.

It came up automatically in dark mode on my desktop, but changing it didn't make it work on Lappy.

I have been using the standard released version of Firefox....I was looking at the beta version...Any real advantages (or disadvantages) to using it over the standard, released version? Is it stable enough to use as a main browser? Lastly, can you run both released firefox and beta as two separate browsers or do you have to replace one with the other?

By default the beta version of Firefox will overwrite your existing release version, however if you create a custom directory named Firefox Beta (or any name of your choice) and install to there it should leave your existing release version alone.
I've used nothing but beta releases for the last five years and apart from the odd minor bug have not had any problems running it as my main browser.
As for advantages, you get to see any new features early. Disadvantages you can encounter the occasional bug.

Thanks Doogie....very clear explanation...I think i may give it a go then as i kind of like the idea of being a "step ahead" as it were...LOL
What i will do is uninstall my current Firefox and then install the beta...run with it for a period of time and if it seems to be ok for main browser use on my computer, keep it...otherwise, i can always go back to the current version again...

Or do you think it would be better to let the beta overwrite the one i have now? I would imagine it probably doesn't make too much difference?

If you let beta overwrite regular one it will keep all settings, bookmarks and add-ons.

That would be the better way to go...If i should eventually decide to return to the regular released version, would that overwrite the beta in the same manner?
