Favorites Bar starts collapsed after last update?

    .

Edge version Version 124.0.2478.80 (Official build) (64-bit), after the last update, now the fav bar is closed (have to click on it to drop down). Is this a glitch, or is MS now bothering us to upgrade to win 11 (nagware within their edge browser as well as strange things popping up in win 10 updates). My OS, latest win 10 ( 22H2 OS Build 19045.4291 ), but have no idea why an OS would change the Edge browser's settings. Is there a way to return the Fav bar to always being open (ie; listing saved webpages and saved folders) and not have to re-tick the checkmark to see my fav's? This is not to have the fav's to the right of the browser, it means (the list top right) when clicked on the 'star' it opens to all fav's not just the two folders with a checkmark to the left, having to click the checkmark to see my fav's.

    Hello,

If your favorites bar keeps disappearing in Microsoft Edge, you can follow these steps to ensure it remains visible:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Click on the three dots (…) in the upper-right corner of the browser to access the menu.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. In the left pane menu, click on Appearance.
    5. Under Customize toolbar, you’ll find the option to Show favorites bar. Choose one of the following:

    ◦ Always: This will keep the favorites bar visible at all times.
    ◦ Never: The favorites bar will remain hidden.
    ◦ Only on new tabs: The favorite bar will appear only when you open a new tab.

Additionally, you can use the keyboard shortcut Control + Shift + B to toggle showing or hiding the favorites bar in Edge. Edge will remember your choice and apply it whenever you open a new tab.

If the issue persists, you can try resetting Microsoft Edge settings or repairing the browser:

    1. Reset Microsoft Edge Browser:

    ◦ Open Edge.
    ◦ Click the three dots (…) in the upper-right corner.
    ◦ Select Settings.
    ◦ In the left pane menu, click on Reset Settings.
    ◦ Click Restore settings to their default values and review the changes.
    ◦ If needed, perform a repair on Microsoft Edge by going to Apps & Features, locating Microsoft Edge, and selecting Modify. Choose Repair when prompted.

    Hope this helps.
