Mmm... a walled garden is meant to be productive and attractive... let you do things you couldn't otherwise do in a natural and environmentally friendly way...

When it became possible to switch to the newer Outlook, I gave it a try and liked it so much, I switched back to the old version almos immediately.
This for some reason caused a violation of Microsofts rules and was locked out. After multiple attempts to restore it I gave up and removed the Windows Mail App which fortunately had a new Outlook mail account I had opened just for testing purposes.
I have been a Google Gmail user from day 3 and now use Thunderbird without any trouble for mail + calendar.
I only use outlook or hotmail using a temporary account to use Comparison Sites.

This is possibly the most useful page regarding progress on the New Outlook mail client.
However there is not much mention of compatibility with a wider range of Email accounts.
The feature set, as of now, is not even up to the current minimalist Mail & Calendar App, never mind the Classic/Desktop Outlook mail client.
