Migration failure to 'New Outlook' - seen anything like this?

I use (have been using) the Calendar app. Sadly this is disappearing merging with others into this 'new Outlook'.
I have no desire or intention to use that.

Yesterday, for whatever reason, when I launched Calendar, the process of morphing to new Outlook started.

    1. I was prompted to use an existing (tiscali) email address. But only a limited range of email providers seems to be supported.

    2. There was no way to stop the process, so I changed to use my gmail address.

    3. The procedure continued... but it failed:

    Any ideas?

I also note that 'new Outlook' insists on synching everything with MS's servers. Hmm. Do I want gmail on MS's servers?

I could not find a way forward quickly, so used a System Restore point from the day before- I have one created daily. Some despise these - it was slow but easy to use.

    Thanks.

New Outlook, Seen it dozens of times. Win 10/11.
Said it many times before, incompatible with a lot of Email accounts. On mine it changes servers to something other than what I have used reliably in the Mail App for 8 years.
Recently launching trying to setup that incompatible account.

So just go through the troubleshoot until it sends stuff to MS. Very much a Beta and unfinished, getting increasingly annoying installing itself & failing.

    Then uninstall it.

No need to use system restore.

Talktalk started closing Tiscali Email accounts from around 2020, unless you paid up or had a Talktalk broadband, Mail Plus, or something like that.
    I just let mine expire.

    Thanks.
    1. Troubleshoot, as expected, achieved nothing. Did not recognise the type of failure.
    2. System Restore: Please understand I used that so Calendar worked again so I could copy off things I wanted - onto a reliable piece of paper.
    3. Tiscali: I'm with Talktalk so no issues. Unfortunately there are some contacts for which I cannot change the email address.

I tried using a gmail address as I said in the hope that I could then access my Calendar data. No, MS failed me.

Am now using a not so good 3rd party calendar/reminder program. Bye Microsoft - enough is enough.
