    Problm with Extensions

When I log into some web sites I get a message that says I need to disable my Ad Block Extention in order to procede.
Problem is I do not have any Ad Blockers installed, this happens in Edge, Chrome, Mozilla.
At one time I did have an ad blocker installed, but uninstalled it a while back.
I have used How To Geek forum in the past and now I can not use it because of this.
I am using Win 10 home edition OS. Version 22H2.

Some browsers have their own built-in adblocking protection, Check the settings to see whether it can be turned off, and/or exceptions added to the settings

Also check your antimalware software (Which one do you use?) for similar settings.

It doesn't always have to be a stand-alone 3rd party addon/extension in the browser that causes this problem

Also note that some web sites think they are so preciously super-sensitive, living in their own little world where the slightest smell of not being allowed to popup a secondary window will cause problems. To what degree you're prepared to "let them in" is a personal choice.

EDIT Try a couple of the non-mainstream browsers - Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Librewolf

Also try Firefox in private mode.

I have the same issue, especially with the "How to Geek" forum, but I don't consider it a problem. I use Chrome and have two ad blockers installed. They work very well. But, occasionally, I happen on a site that won't let me in, unless I disable the ad blocker. Personally, I never disable my ad blockers. To me, they are nothing special and don't have any information that I can't get somewhere else. I just throw away the site and look somewhere else.

But if it really bothers you, you might try deinstalling your browser and then reinstalling it. That may get rid of any residual ad blocker data.

In addition to what was mentioned, do you use a third-party DNS service? Like NextDNS and the likes?

The website/s are running a script and can detect if an Ad blocker is installed by seeing if a certain domain is blocked. If so they say, nope, turn off the Ad blocker. Because How To Geek now does this, I refuse to go to their website anymore. Mostly because I chose to block Ads due to malvertising. Malvertising - Wikipedia

Go here. Does it say you're using an Ad blocker? Content Filters and Proxy Detection - BrowserLeaks

I would encourage you to use something like uBlock Origin and instead disable on a per website basis which you CAN do in uBlock Origin. I would also look into NextDNS if you're not already doing so just for the domain rebind protection. Read about what that marvelous hack crap is here: DNS rebinding - Wikipedia

Protip: Many Torrent tracker URLs are DNS rebinding... Not all but I cught quite the few. The little hackers... I even caught McCareFree antivirus stinger doing that... No sense in that. None once so ever, and it's not necessary for the functionality of scanning a computer with a set of definitions. Portable ClamWinAV certainly doesn't do that. I call shenanigans.

Yeah, I just went to howtogeek and saw all of the domains blocked in real time with NextDNS. Forgetaboutit. Not letting that through.

They need to accept donations via Monero, Bitcoin, Kofi, etc (there's a plethora of donation websites out there), partner with sponsors that don't use the traditional Ad crap, and use Amazon affiliate links. I don't know what else to say.
