    Microsoft Edge - Microsoft Cares About Your Privacy (Pop-up Message)


    From a Windows 10 cold-boot, when I open Microsoft Edge, then open a New Tab, the "Microsoft Cares About Your Privacy" Pop-up message appears, even if I accept.
    I strongly suspect that shutting my pc down (with CCleaner) causes a cookie or specific file to be removed from the os, causing the MS Privacy prompt to return.
    I am very curious to know; when I Accept the privacy agreement, where is the cookie or file stored?
    If I knew what file stores the agreement, I would be able to add it to CCleaner's Exemption list.

    Edge Settings > Privacy, search & services > set Tracking Protection to Balanced or Basic, not Strict.

    Still in Privacy, etc. > Clear browsing data > Choose what to clear every time you close the browser > I'd recommend that you not clear any of this data every time the browser is closed but if you're going to clear anything, uncheck Cookies, Hosted app data and Site permissions.

    (Left side) Cookies & Site permissions > (right side) Cookies & site data > Allow sites to save... > turn on.

    Thank you for your reply.
    I actually followed those instructions already without success.
    The only setting I have to clear when Edge is closed is to delete Download history.

    Update: I prevented CCleaner from clearing our Edge's Cookies and this seems to have solved the issue.
    Only, I still need to find out what Cookie is responsible for the Microsoft pop-up.

    ntp.msn.com
    But you need to add msn.com to exceptions. Alternatively, you can block msn.com domain via hosts or DNS.

    Thank you "TairikuOkami".
    That did the trick!
    Although I didn't find ntp.msn.com, I did find these:
    assets.msn.com (cookie to keep icons for pinned URLs) and
    msn.com (cookie to keep MS Edge's preferences).
    I have successfully added these to CCleaner's Exemption list and the problem is solved!
