    Edge v Chrome.....

Bit of a strange one this.......Four of my laptops, all running the latest version of W10, have Ancestry. uk installed on them......three of them work fine, with the Edge browser, the fourth will only let me sign into Ancestry using Google Chrome, and won't work with the Edge browser.......anyone know why ?........I have reset Edge on the offending laptop, to no avail........any help appreciated.....

    - Is there an error message and/or error code ? Also, check Event Viewer and Windows Reliability Monitor for info.

    - Is Edge current with all updates ?

    - Possible extensions on Edge causing issues ? If so, disable to see if difference.

I would go with third party Internet Security software, etc on the offending machine.

Thanks for the replies......I can't seem to find any issues with W10, or Edge itself........everything is up to date......maybe it is an issue with Ancestry itself......but why on just the one machine ?.....

This is what it says, on the offending laptop, while using the Edge browser, it has been like it for about five days now.....strangely it happens even though I am logged into Ancestry, and when I try to view my tree......it does not happen while using Google Chrome, and does not happen on the other three laptops using Edge.....I should add, it only started happening after re-installing W10 from a USB flash drive, but I've also done that on the other three machines, with no problems.......very strange !!.....Edge v Chrome.....-photo1435.jpg

That screenshot does nothing. See my previous post that you need to look at s3xurity software, etc on the offending machine

The only security I have installed is Windows Defender, and I run Glary Utilities (free version) on ALL of the laptops......

Scroll to the bottom of the Website and note a couple of prominent Blue Updated signs, effective 17 Jan 2024.

So you will need to Delete Cookies and maybe Temporary Internet files.

Easiest way for Cookies is to click on the Address Bar padlock.
    > Cookies > Select all of them > Remove.

    Very similar for Chrome.

    Restart Browsers.

Do same for all Browsers and PCs.

Glary Utilities may also have a managerial finger in the pie. I don't use them.

The only problem with deleting ALL cookies, is that I now have to try and remember various passwords for different sites.......now, where did I write them down ?......Thanks again all........
