Create a Shortcut in Chrome is gone in the latest version

I realize this isn't the right forum for this issue - but please forgive me because I can't get it resolved any other way. There are probably many of you that have this problem so I'm posting here. I use "Create a Shortcut" very frequently in the Chrome browser. I place the shortcut on my Desktop and it shows with an icon relative to the site. Can't do that anymore. The only way I found to put a shortcut on the Desktop is to right-click on the Desktop and click on New Shortcut. However, the Icon I get is the Chrome icon - not the icon associated with the website. I'm hoping someone will read this and give me a solution. Thank you..........

I just created a shortcut with Chrome Version 120.0.6099.217 (latest version); the shortcut was created on my desktop with the web site's icon. Google moved the "create shortcut" feature to Save and share -> create shortcut. Is that what you're using?

Can't find Save and Share. Using Version 120.0.6099.217 (Official Build) (64-bit). Please tell me how to find Save and Share. That should solve the problem. Thank you.

Highlight the address in the address bar and drag it to your desktop. It will create a shortcut to the site with a Chrome Icon, if Chrome is set to your Default Browser. If not, it will create an icon of your Default Browser.

Or as stated, go to the Upper Right corner of Chrome next to your Profile pic and click the 3 dots and choose Save and Share/Create Shortcut.

And I have no idea why Google moved it! Glad it's working.

    regular website
Chrome > Save and share > Create Shortcut
This will create a desktop shortcut to the specific webpage with Favicon.
This will also add this webpage to Add or Remove Programs.

PWA (Progressive Web App) website: [currently indicated in the Chrome address bar with an icon of a monitor with a down arrow] examples: Youtube, Reddit, Github...
Chrome > Save and share > Create Shortcut
This will create a desktop shortcut to the root domain of that website with Favicon.
This will also add this webpage to Add or Remove Programs.

    regular or PWA website
Highlight entire web address in address bar and drag it to the desktop
This will create a desktop shortcut to the specific webpage with Chrome icon.

I wish I could just disable PWA functionality completely.

Where are the URLs (web addresses)? Thank you.....

I don't understand your question. Are you asking me to include web addresses of examples?
