Online videos do not play on Firefox and Brave

Everything was working fine, when suddenly both of my browsers stopped playing any online video -- no matter what the source -- for no obvious reason. Nothing changed at my end.

Firefox hangs and issues "non responding".
Brave tries to load and just keeps spinning.

    Here's where this happens:

    This site: https://kan.org.il/live/
    Youtube

No matter what video, it won't play. This is weird.

Search for a youtube video via piped or invidious.

    Youtube

If those work then maybe change DNS along with hard resetting your router (via the reset button).

Change IPv4 and IPv6 DNS Server Address in Windows

Also state if you are using a VPN.

    Thanx for responding.

Can you explain what is "via piped or invidious" and how do I find one?

I can add the following: It looks like after I reboot the laptop videos play again. But I usually leave the laptop in sleep mode overnight and when I wake it up, the problem reappears, so I have to reboot to get playing again. I would prefer not to have to do this and wear out the laptop. Does this give you any ideas?

If this persists I will try your DNS/router suggestion.

Details are in the "Youtube" link in Post #2 above. There are links to Piped and a link to Invidious. Open Piped and search for then play a video. Open an Invidious instance. Pick one from the list. Then search for and play a video.

Also try a private browsing window and see if that works.

You have not stated if you are using a VPN.

1st, it looks like after rebooting the videos play only one session. If I close it it won't play a second session without rebooting again.

2nd, it's not just Firefox, but Brave too. And not just YouTube, but ANY online video. I also noticed that when it stops playing, it often also does not access web pages -- gives a white screen. And for all it says no responding.

3rd, I tried 5 Invidious -- did not play either.

One more thing: Given that it requires rebooting, doesn't it indicate it is a hardware or Windows issue?

I have run a mfgr diagnostics on the laptop and all is fine.

I do recall that during one reboot smtg like GDI+Windows appeared on the screen before Windows loaded, but only once. Has not in all rebootings after that.

I dk why you say this -- I tried Invidious and reported that it did not play.

In the meantime some other issues cropped up and I thought of reporting them, in case they may help you figure it out, after which I was going to try whatever else you suggested.

Oh, sorry, I did not notice your VPN question -- no I do not use one.

    Thanx anyway.

Okay then I have only two suggestions.

    Change DNS
along with hard resetting your router (via the reset button).

Clear temp files and browser cache.

Delete Temporary Files in Windows 10

Most browser allows cache clearance via [CTRL+Shift+DEL] and certainly Firefox uses this shortcut.
