How to remove the "New" badge in Google Chrome menus?

The bright blue box with "New" is so annoying. I can't figure out how to remove it. There used to be a flag, but that is gone, and clicking on the "New" option/feature does not make it go away. Is there any way to remove it?

You could disable Reading Mode altogether (then that context entry disappears)

If you still want a reading mode, that then suggests an extension to Chrome near the end instead.
(Presumably with no 'New' text anywhere).
