    Bing results in google search?

    Hi all,

I've experienced a weird issue with Edge Version 120.0.2210.61 and Windows 10 22H2.

Every now and then when I search on Google.co.uk the first results are from Bing. I can see the font size of those results is slightly different - if not mistaken it's like something is "injecting" those results as soon as the google result page shows up.

I've run Malwarebytes but it didn't find anything.

It doesn't happen every time so it's difficult to troubleshoot.

Searching online, I see there are instances of re-directing, not of Bing results appearing ON the google search result page!

Has anybody seen anything like that? I'll try to take a screenshot next time it happens.

    Thank you!

Hi, have you checked your Edge settings here?

I found Edge was using Bing and reset it to Google.

    when I search on Google.co.uk
    - you can search directly using the address bar- no need to go specifically to Google for a general search, only if you wish to use Google 's specific options:

Yes, I removed Bing altogether some time ago from the search engines, I can confirm I am still set to google.

What you suggest would show a BING result page if somehow Edge was redirecting me to it.

What I see instead is a GOOGLE result page but with the first 2-3 results coming from BING, which doesn't make any sense whatsoever. When I click on them, I cannot remember if I am taken to a Bing result page or to the actual website THROUGH a bing link (I can see it on the address bar when it's loading). I'll pay more attention next time it happens.

It might help if you post a couple of screenshots showing how you are starting the search

(specific address box, taskbar search box, opening the Google web site in your browser, browser address bar...)

Compare what happens with a different browser.

I usually use Edge's address bar as you suggested. Next time I see this happening I'll try to document it better.
