I never undersatnd why people don't use a privacy focused front end for Youtube at least for now.

    Examples:

    Piped

    Piped

    Personally I prefer Invidious:

    Invidious Instances

Instances vary and can be buggy in which case switch to another instance. If you're fussy choose an instance that allows settings configuration.

If you want to subscribe to a channel without an account use Freetube client proxied through Invidious (can be done in settings).

FreeTube - The Private YouTube Client

I pretty much never visit Youtube directly. About the only time is if I'm watching video embedded on another site.

I love Google/Youtube account, I got many great recommendations because of my history.
I am actually upset, because Google lowered the history from 5 years to 3, because of a ... .
I have separated my Youtube from the rest of the internet, so privacy is not really an issue.

It's not so much a privacy issue. I prefer distraction free.
