Edge ALWAYS displays "Restore Pages - Edge Closed Unexpectedly"

I am using Edge on Windows 10 22H2. The PC if fully updated.

Every time Edge launches, I get the "Restore Pages - Edge Closed Unexpectedly" dialog box.

Also, most of the time, Edge will open to a window about 1/2 the size of my monitor, even though I closed Edge from a maximized window.

I also have the Edge Developer's Edition and Opera, but they don't display the Restore Pages message. I have tried making Opera the default browser, but Edge continues to launch to a 1/2 size window and show the Restore Pages message.

Rebooting does not remedy the problem. Launching in Safe Mode does not remedy the problem. I have found some "solutions" from searches on the internet. Some have involved registry edits, but so far none have worked.

I hope this forum can provide some additional info on how to resolve this.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ken

This should stop the symptom, but not the cause.
    Code:
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge" /v "HideRestoreDialogEnabled" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f
The problem might be, that by default Edge runs nonstop, so when you shutdown PC, it is considered as a crash.
You can also try to disable this setting, which keeps webpages live: edge://settings/content/backgroundSync

Thanks for your response to my post, Tairiku. I will try it, but I need a little guidance on how to run that line of code. Do I put it on a command line, Run dialog, batch file?

Also, I routinely close all apps when I shut down or restart my PC. I generally don't leave apps running because of the warnings that pop up when the restart/shut down process begins.

    Thanks again,
    Ken
