    How to disable microsoft edge

My default browser is FireFox yet every time I go to the Search box and enter something, Edge responds even tho I've
    already selected my default browser....
It' a real PAIN and short of removing the program, if that can be done, I'd like to DISABLE IT COMPLETELY...
    CAN THAT BE DONE?
Any help/assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Disabling EDGE is NOT a good idea. It's better to just disable web search...

Turn On or Off Search online and include web results in Windows 10

Search will still work... it just won't search "online" at the same time.

Also, in Firefox... go to about:config and search for this string, and set it to False...
    browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser

This will allow you to UNcheck this box...

    Many more Firefox tweaks...

    Try MSEdgeRedirect (free).

This ensures actions hardcoded to inoke Edge are redirected to your chosen default browser.
    E.g. News and Interests links.

It really isn''t worth trying to remove or hack Edge. This is a neater and less invasive way that requires less effort on your part.
