Edge - cannot use secure DNS - Browser managed by organisation ?

Top of settings page says "Your browser is managed by your organisation".
I am not in any organisation, I am an individual with only a personal Microsoft account.
I have never had a MS account with an organisation.
What's going wrong here and what can I do to fix it?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
It was also stopping me selecting "Do not Track" but I fixed that using regedit - some old advice of yours I had used before.
But MS reverts it back with every update it seems !
I can't tell you how annoyed I find MS's actions in thinking they know better than me how I want to use my browser.

    Hello,

It looks like it was disabled by the policy in option two below. If so, you can set it back to default to then be able to turn on.

So many users don't understand what this means. It's explained here:

    Note   Note

It's quite possible for policies to be set by a different program on the computer, e.g. a security suite (e.g. Webroot), a privacy-enhancing tool (e.g. O&O Shutup10), a browser extension (e.g. WebAdvisor) or by malware. They can also be set by the user personally, so the phrase managed by your organization can be really misleading.

    Hi Brink,
I have done option 2 section 4 but it has made absolutely no difference !

What's more, the merged (?) key is not in the registry - and neither are all the other keys that I'm sure were there before.

So what the heck do I do now?

Edge does still seem to be working normally as far as I can tell.

That indicates the policy is not configured then.

You could see if reloading policies in Microsoft Edge below to refresh it may help.

Sorry for delay, I have been indisposed.

Why do I need to reload policies when Edge seems to be working fine?

With regard to my original post, I realise I posted the same problem back in January and fixed it then.
And I partially fixed it this time too.
But now it's all back as it was before !
It comes back after every windows update because Microsoft always knows best, doesn't it?

So they may think they've won but I am giving up entirely on Edge which has become far too bloated anyway.

I am now using Brave which is safer and more private.
