postbox notifications

so recently bought the Postbox email program which i find to work great.
just one thing i cant seem to work out ...
if i close the app, i get no notifications in action center, like i used to with any other email client i used before (windows mail&calender , thunderbird , outlook ect.)
as soon as i open Postbox ,the notifications pop up.
I've looked in notification settings ,postbox doesn't even appear there , i looked in background apps , Postbox doesn't appear there .
I've contacted their customer support ...no answer yet .
Postbos IS set as default email client.
any1 using Postbox here have an idea ? or any idea in general?

If you close the app then it is not running so can't check for messages.

I had a quick look at support and the only option that I can see is "minimize to system tray" so do that and leave it running.

yes i can understand that , but that's why i said with the various other email apps i had ,they were also closed yet i got notifications.
that's also why i checked background processes but Postbox doesn't appear there

EDIT: now that i think of it , when i do open Postbox and the popups appear ,its different than the notification centre popups .Its like its own popup in the bottom right corner ...

I haven't used an email client for some time now. I just use web mail. I did use Thunderbird, EM Client and a few others but don't remember seeing email notifications when the clients were not running.

Searching their support site for "notifications" only seems to produce results on configuring sound notifications.

"Postbox has its own notification system outside of the Windows action center. Are you receiving the notifications from the Postbox app?" (yes i am but that's not the point)

weird that a paid service wouldn't be integrated into windows notifications, while FREE services is ...

anyway ,no biggie i supose , was just used to getting email notifications as soon as they arrive.
now i gotta open the client to see if any new mail
