    browser unable to play you tube


    I have two 2-year-old PC's (both HP)= one, with W10, and the other with W11. Both with Edge browser. The W10 PC has no problem. The W11 PC has one problem: it is unable to play you tube vids - with notification "Your browser can't play this video." Learn more. I am itching to reset but not sure that it will correct the problem because I do not know if the prob is the OS or the browser (W11 edge), or You Tube in w11. I do a lot of tweakings with the W11 device. I suspect I might have changed settings improperly. I do not fool around with the W10 PC (and that's why it has no problem?)

    tried it ... every suggestion


    ...but to no avail. I was hoping the resetting would do the trick. Now my last resort is recovery option which I hate to do. I hope for some other suggestions?

    Search for the video via third party YouTube front ends here:

    Invidious

    or:

    Piped

    Does it play?

    Also turn off all your extensions, close Edge then relaunch it.

    How to Turn On or Off Extensions in Microsoft Edge Chromium

    See if the problem remains.

    You can re-enable all extensions if the problem was still present with them disabled.

    Alk extensions are disabled, but...


    ...no luck. Still unable to play You tube vids. However, both third parties play well, no problem. What's next?

    Hmm... this is a idea that I just thought of... maybe it could possibly work? Not sure.

    I don't have Windows 11. So I am basing this picture from my Windows 10. See if you can locate the msedge.exe file in Windows 11. In the picture, that's where my Microsoft Edge is located. See if you can run it under Windows 10 compatibility:

    I don't know much about windows 11. I'd say clear Edge data.

    That is assuming that all machines are connected via the same router. (Or Wifi network).

    MSN EDGE in my PC with W10 is having zero problems (it plays you tube vids seamlessly) and that's why I do not want to tweak it. Tweaking W11 to play in W10 mode sounds good. Let me see if I can do it. Oh, I already have repaired Edge a while ago - no luck.
