    Err_socket_not_connected

last week I was having an issue with my desktop computer and not being able to access websites. can not access web sites

Today, I was again on the computer when I suddenly started having the same problem, I tried using the DNS jumper but that was not helping and then I started getting the error message ERR-SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED .

I am only having the issue with my desktop computer running windows 10 Home Edition version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3324)

I also ran some scans like I was doing last time and I also unplugged the modem and router waited a few minutes then plugged them back in and that computer can again connect to assorted websites without any problems.

Could it be that the computer itself is starting to die on me or is there maybe some sort of network thing in the computer that could be having an issue with connecting / talking to the router and or modem that needs to be addressed. I am not having any issues with connecting to the internet on this tiny little laptop running windows 10 Professional version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3324)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

    can not access web sites

    - your previous thread.

You mention DNSjumper which I suggested but haven't, as far as I can see, confirmed it could find valid DNS's.
    Did it?

Are you using a VPN? Have you been? Do you have 1 or more installed?
    Uninstall any in use.

    Please reset settings to default:

Can you ping a known sever?

sorry for the delay in replying, been sick the past few days so I was not even on my computer till now.

I did try the DNS jumper and that did not help, but today when I did turn on the computer and tried to access websites the problem is not there.

I will look to reset my settings to default as you suggested.
I did check internet properties and this is what mine looked like before doing anything. I see restore advanced settings - is that what is meant by resetting to default?

I am not sure what is meant by ping a known server - sorry

Unfortunately you haven't explained this. Err_socket_not_connected-1.jpg
Did DNSjumper find any servers or did it completely fail to connect to anything?

is that what is meant by resetting to default?
    Yes.

I am not sure what is meant by ping a known server
Here's how to find out.. and how to do it:
