Stopping IE from Automatically Opening Edge

Something has happened in the last couple of days that has me steamed.
I have a security system that requires IE to open its internal web interface.
All other browsers do not work.
I have been using it successfully for 5 years.
Today for some reason when I click on the Shortcut on my Windows 10 Task Bar it wants to open Edge, which prevents the interface from opening. It is on my internal network.
It used to display a message asking me if I want to open it in Edge. That message no longer appears.
How do I stop IE from opening Edge (or is it Edge that has made the change?).
    Latest version of Win10.
    Please help.
    Urgent!

    Edit: Changed "internet" to "internal"

That is because IE is no longer. Edge has taken its place.

Renaming the BHO Folder worked like a charm.
    Thanks!

Solution 1 LaunchIE - LesFerch #3 - TenForums This works in Windows 10 & 11. You'll then have to enter any other pages directly into the IE address bar if you want to go anywhere else once it's open.
Solution 2 Non-IE websites can redirect to Edge (Bree, #464) - TenForums
Solution 3 Get a new "security system"

    All the best,

Microsoft has now gone even further by completely turning off or blocking IE.
The solution I used above to rename the BHO folder no longer allows me to use IE.
Clicking on it now does nothing.
    Thanks Microsoft.

    The @LesFerch method still works.

    I re-tested it just now in Windows 10 Home x64 Version 22H2 Build 19045.3570

    LaunchIE - example.vbs

    Set oIE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
    oIE.Visible = True
