    Manually Enable Internet Explorer 11?

I logged in today and got this message Manually Enable Internet Explorer 11?-untitled.png

I am not using this browser by choice - it's the only authorized one where I work (a contract at a federal job, with their IT regulations). I am pretty sure I am not the only one using IE because it's the only option.

P.S. if impossible to do, are there any FREE/WORKING Add-ons for FireFox that makes the website think you are using Internet Explorer?

    Substitute MyIE9

had to use this because of IE-specific plug-in required for security system. Array/range of settings are a bit daunting but still worked.

I urge you to ask whoever authorizes things what you are expected to do.

    Best of luck,

I'm surprised that if you're required by work to use an IE11 compatible browser, they haven't set up Edge in IE11 mode for your desktop. This is done by Group Policy templates where you open legacy web pages in Edge's Trident engine, which is derived from the old IE11 browser code. You would be running Edge, but pages would load correctly.

This is the officially supported workaround instead of running the IE11 browser. No other browser has full support for legacy pages.

For a good manual tune of IE11, go to the 'Control Panel', then 'Internet Options'

These settings still apply in 2023.

If you set IE11 very hot, like turned up hot to the max with cookie prompts, any automatic help files which load IE, will prompt you with cookies that are trying to load on to your computer. Its a nice little security thing to monitor when your loading help files thru the old IE.

Contact the IT department, and ask them which is the current browser that you should be using.
Ask them to install the browser which is required.
