Where are the temporary internet files of Microsoft Edge located?

    Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3324)

Hi everybody. The first question is, what is the difference between temporary internet files and cache? I know about cache for a long time, but I only got to know that there is temporary internet file for browsers. I have some questions regarding this that I'll list in points.

    1. What are their difference?
    2. Does Edge automatically clear temporary internet files, and how often does it do?
    3. Where is the location of the temporary internet files? A few results on Google suggest that they are located under C:\Users\$user\AppData\Local\Packages \Microsoft. A few other results suggest C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Cache

I may have more questions about this, but stop here for now. Thanks.

    "1. What are their difference?"

There is no difference, Temporary files are in an area of your disk which maybe called a cache.
In your question 3. is the answer...

"2. Does Edge automatically clear temporary internet files, and how often does it do?"

Depends on your Edge settings, same as in any Web Browser settings.
3 dots > Settings > Privacy, search, and services, scroll down a bit to "Clear browsing data" options.
I would look at other items as well and adjust.

InPrivate mode also changes some options.

    3. You are unlikely to have to go there for any reason. More than likely what you want to do is available in Edge Settings.

"I may have more questions about this, but stop here for now. Thanks."

I think you should be going thru all your Edge Browser settings, most of the answers will be there.
