How do I make the bing toolbar never appear? From Microsoft Edge

I tried doing a web search for this, but it only pulled up results for different forms of a bing toolbar that don't afflict me.

This thing pops up automatically and by default with the edge browser. It is not part of the browser, it appears on MY FREAKING DESKTOP, visible when all other windows are minimized.
Every time edge opens, this unwanted pest appears.
I don't use edge, it is not my default browser. But sometimes edge opens for other reasons (that I try to remove.)
But regardless of the reason, this thing keeps popping up looking like the kind of virus/malware I used to get in Windows XP.

How do I remove this from ever appearing?

I already checked my Programs and Features; there is no Bing Bar application. This appears to be tied in directly with Microsoft Edge.

Hi, from the huge searchable Tutorials section (do feel free to have a look) please see

Disable Microsoft Edge Desktop Search Bar at Startup in Windows 10

I assume this is what you're referring to- no screenshot.

Note: this question has been repeatedly asked, as you might expect with a new 'feature' such as this, so also feel free to search tenforums and use it as a resource. Thanks.
