Free email accounts

I need to get a free email account such Yahoo or mail.com. I need to be able to attach files to the emails I send.

I used to have Gmail, but had to cancel it because everyday the inbox would be full of junk mail that I could not delete.

It seems now that all the free emails require a cell phone to verify me. Well I do NOT have a cell phone. There has to be another way that I am missing.

BTW Yahoo says I have an account, but I do not have the password and they do NOT have a way to get my forgotten password.

I sure would like some suggestions.

Try3, I have outlook.com, but I see NO way to attach a file to an email.

OK I finally got Yahoo Email working.

What I am trying to do is send an attached ebook to amazon by yahoo email. We set up amazon to accept emails from my yahoo account. Amazon should then return an email to my yahoo email to confirm the action I asked for.

I am NOT getting that return email. I have absolutely NO idea why that is happening.

Any ideas? I am all ears.

Let me see if I understand this correctly....

Is this a facility that Amazon has to allow you to send a digital book or document to a specific e-mail address which in turn will send the document to a portable reader such as a Kindle?

If this is the case, you may want to see if Amazon has specific troubleshooting steps for this procedure, or you might want to speak with Amazon for direct assistance in getting this configured.

Trys3 Amazon is involved because I have one of their tablets that I use to read ebooks. To get the ebooks on the tablet, I send an email to Amazon with the ebook attached. Once Amazon receives that email, they should sent an email back to me so I can authorize the transaction. I hope that is clean.
What is happening is that I am NOT getting that return email from Amazon on my Yahoo email.

Ghot yes I have checked the spam folder. From another email program I have sent a test email to the Yahoo email and it was received fine. So I know it can get emails.

I have NOW got a GMAIL account and will check to see if it works. I have already contacted Amazon and added the gmail address to my Amazon account. It should now return that email. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I use Protonmail. They do want you to use a phone number, but last I saw you could skip that privacy invading BS. And good on Proton Technologies for doing that, too!

If you want to use Protonmail for privacy, then you have to use a good and reputable privacy focused and "audited" VPN on sign up and every time - EVERY TIME you go to your inbox.

I put audited in quotes because unless I audit it myself I will never truly trust it... Even if the code is in the public domain. The code you run may not be public domain code... Anyway....

Yahoo is not that great with stuff like that. They may be blocking the sender or attachment...

By far the best e-mail is to roll your own, but that takes knowledge, time and real effort... Plus, you need a fiber optic line like I have.
