The above two responses are formed like this:
I don't want to quote the entire message since that may be quite lengthy.
and this.

Getting this editor to show the [QU...] control defeated me, and I have only just learned about the control from Rick's post. I have to place one of those before the [QU... and a before the second ====. That is why I was so oblique when I referred to 'controls' above - I did not know how to stop the text formatter obeying the controls. A screen-shot would have worked, but...

Quoting 'neatly' is a fair bit of faffing about. I usually click on 'quote', and then cut and paste as required. (I must acknowledge that both Callender and Rick already covered this, but I wanted to respond, now I know how! Martin

PS Getting the above to show the [nopar...] and [/nopar...] was another trial and error exercise!

I am in forums (eg. avsim.com) where you simply highlight the phrase or sentence you want to quote, right click and that selection will show up in your reply as a quote. You can then continue highlight phrases and sentences selectively and those will show up separately in your reply. I find it ironic that this forum's method for multi-quoting which aim to help users is not as simple as that.

IIRC, Windows Secrets worked like that. I am only here because when it 'migrated' to AskWoody it became a useless mess.
